Hether - Partner / Master Designer

HetherThe Inspiration- In Her Words: “I grew up with my mom doing my hair and that of my siblings. There were five girls and one boy, so mom got a lot of practice. My mother went through beauty school in Washington while pregnant with me, which is why I have always believed that the need to do hair is in my blood.”

Hether opened her salon in 1999 with the vision to create an Old World Salon that had a comfortable feel and a highly innovative staff up on all of the latest techniques. She wanted to set the higher standards for the industry, and wanted to do something in and for the community where she grew up.

Customer service and education are the cornerstones of success. After more than three decades in the business, Hether feels comfortable providing both. Her experience has taught her that customer service is vital to success and failure helps you grow. Hether is hard working and will do whatever it takes to make her client more comfortable with their hair and will stand behind her team so they can do the same.

One of Hether’s goals is to provide consistent education for each member of the staff. There is always something new to learn. We are proud to be one of the elite salons to carry high end products like Oribe, Goldwell, RandCo and KMS product lines. Hether is a licensed educator and every new stylist entering the salon must train under Hether for six months to two years. This education encompasses, learning the basics of how Hether cuts, customer service, chair education, products, styling, placement techniques and color.

Hether has traveled all over North America and Europe to participate in competitions and shows. When she is not creating beautiful styles or traveling, this fiery redhead enjoys her daughter, son and daughter-in-law and finds peace in the mountains around Grand Lake. She recently married the love of her life and is still enjoying the 'honeymoon phase'.

Her personal philosophy: We need to constantly challenge ourselves and push to the next level of learning. Within us all is an unlimited amount of potential and nothing is out of reach. Recognizing this is the first step of achieving your dreams. Each season brings change which leads to new thoughts, excitement and inspiration in our industry of beauty and fashion. Change is always good.

Vicki-SmallVicki has always loved doing hair and has for 23 years. Her favorite service is color because she likes to see the change she can make in people. Her goal is to be creative and give the person something different. Her approach is unique in that she tries to approach each client visit with a fresh eye by asking good questions. Clients come back because she listens to their wants and needs. She really tries to help them. She gets to know their career, age, and level of busyness, which helps her, help them envision change.

A quote that defines her is, “life is too short to be unhappy, make a change, and do it now.” She is inspired by continuing her education and going to classes. Learning something new helps her not get burnt out as well as stay current on the latest trends. One thing to know about her is that she is easy-going, strong, fun and soft-hearted. She is from Scottsbluff, NE and went to school in Fort Collins, but always knew she would come to Colorado. Ashley is a Goldwell Color Trendsetter and refers to herself as a “color geek”. She believes that cutting and color goes hand-in-hand and she loves to do both. The foundation for this belief is lots of education. She feels that education is really important and she is passionate about learning and training. If she wasn't able to work in the salon, she would probably be an instructor because she loves this industry.

Every day she strives to be an inspiration to her clients. She wants to be an example by having a great attitude, looking good, and feeling good. When her clients walk in, they know that they are the most important person to her and she makes sure they leave feeling amazing and enthusiastic about life.

Kalli is laid back, open, fun and casual. She is a faithful person and is a modest, but very talented singer. She grew up singing in the Children's choir at church and sings with another group now and says she gets so much joy from that gift.
